NEW PAY AND DISPLAY METERS ON CLAYTON AND BROAD STREETS!
The new Pay and Display machines will be located between Lumpkin and Thomas Streets.
Please continue to use the traditional style, single-space parking meters from Lumpkin Street to Pulaski.
Following are the instructions for using the new Pay and Display parking meters:
You may stay in on-street parking spaces for a maximum of 2-hours. Please park in a parking deck or lot for longer visits.There are THREE CONVENIENT WAYS to pay for parking: $1 bill, coins, or Visa/MasterCard.Please select your preferred method of payment, from the list below, and follow the directions.
$1 BILL
Insert a $1 bill, and the machine will automatically dispense a 2-hour parking receipt. THE MACHINE WILL NOT GIVE CHANGE. DO NOT INSERT LARGER BILLS.COINS
Insert coins as follows: Nickel=6 minutes, Dime=12 minutes, Quarter=30 minutes Press the
green “Print” button, once you’ve reached the desired amount of time, and the machine will dispense your receipt.VISA/MASTERCARD
Insert a credit or debit card with the Visa or MasterCard logo. Press the “add time” button to add time in 1 hour increments. Press the
green “Print” button, once you’ve reached the desired amount of time, and the machine will dispense your receipt or Press the “max time” button for an automatic two-hour receipt. *Please note that a one hour minimum (50¢) is required when paying by card.Cancel:
To cancel your transaction press the red “Cancel” button.Display:
Your receipt must be displayed on the DRIVER’S SIDE DASHBOARD and clearly visible to parking staff. If the receipt is not clearly visible on the driver’s side dashboard, you may be ticketed. Motorcyclists are strongly encouraged to park in designated motorcycle spaces located and equipped with traditional meters. If you must park your motorcycle in a standard vehicle parking space; please place receipt clearly on tank, windshield, or seat. If the receipt is not visible, blows off, or is stolen, you may be ticketed. BROAD AND CLAYTON STREETS NOW HAVE PORTABLE TIME! You can move from one space to another and take your time with you! The ADDA manages the Downtown Athens Parking System (DAPS). This includes 750 short-term, on-street spaces throughout Downtown, 4 surface lots for monthly parking, and the College Avenue Parking Deck for hourly, daily, and monthly parking. Please look to the right to access a PDF parking map, that you may download and/or print.
Off-Street Parking
For more information on renting a monthly space in a surface lot, or in the College Avenue Parking Deck, please call 706-353-1421. You may also visit us in Suite 400 of the Fred Building, located at 220 College Avenue, Athens, Georgia 30601. We're immediately across the street from the College Avenue Parking Deck.

On-Street Parking
On-street parking is for short visits to Downtown only (2 hours or less). The map, available on the upper right of this page, will show you the available on-street parking options.
All on-street meters cost 50 cents per hour.
Meters are enforced Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

On-street parking offices are located in the Costa Building, 133 East Washington Street (the same yellow brick building as the Downtown Police sub-station).
